About Me

One ear maybe be down but this gorgeous girl has a disposition which is always up.

What you will notice first and foremost with this girl is that she is always there for kisses and she is always smiling. The years have not dampened her spirit and her loving nature radiates all over her face. Hers is the smile that you just can't help smiling along with: the contented mouth wrinkles and the adoring eyes are heartbreakingly beautiful.

Kayla enjoys a sleep in the sun but is not averse to a good old game of tug-o-war and a bit of a gentle wrestle. She will let you know that she's had enough by heading back to the sunny spot for another nap.

She would like a quiet home where she can bliss the days away in the warmth of the sun and a human companion who likely enjoys the same. She would make a beautiful little house companion for a retired person or persons as she takes life at a relaxed pace. She is currently fostered with other dogs so a home with another canine buddy would work well too. She is gentle and tolerant of children, as long as she is able to retreat to her quiet spot when needed. She loves just sitting there and getting all the pats and will roll over for belly rubs.

Still very much the eager and involved girl, she loves her food and that's when you might see both those ears pointing straight up! She will sit and stay on command, is toilet trained and travels well in the car.

Kayla will bring a smile to the face of anyone - and if that's what you need in your life, she is the one for you.

Medical Notes

Kayla is an older girl and as such will need an adopter who is prepared to continue with her treatments. Kayla has generalised arthritis affecting her mainly in the hind legs. She is undergoing a course of synovan injections and is on daily meloxicam. She will need to be on daily anti-inflammatory medication to manage her arthritis. She also has a long history of dry eye in both eyes and is on Optimmune for that.
