My Story

Nani, in Hawaiian means beautiful, and she is certainly a beautiful looking girl with so many cute expressions, not to mention personalities!

Nani Banani as we affectionately call her is a very calm, settled and well mannered girl. She is a dream to walk on lead and will happily trot along at a comfortable pace. She sleeps soundly through the night, is housetrained and knows all the basic training like sit, stay, lie down and is learning “off”.

She loves her treats and is a very smart girl who is very treat motivated, in fact she doesn’t put a foot wrong when she knows there is payment.

Nani is on the small side of medium, and is best described as the size of a small kelpie. She is easy to pick up and cuddle and always melts when smothered with love.

For the majority of the day she is happy to laze at your feet and cuddle up to you on the couch.

She also has a fun side, albeit somewhat crazy side, where she loves a game of tug, fetch and any type of activity that involves just you and her.

Nani has difficulty settling herself if over aroused. It sometimes gets the better of her and she will inappropriately bark and tug at clothing in a bid to release tension. In these times we keep everything calm and still until she settles herself down. She is great with kids however they will need to be old enough to understand and implement these calming techniques so that Nani continues to learn to settle herself down when over aroused.

Nani has been around lots of different dogs of varies sizes and doesn’t want much to do with them. She doesn’t react at all but completely ignores them. She is human focused and really wants a home where she is the centre of attention.

She likes to be inside when your out but is ok to explore the yard on her own for a few hours without a fuss. It will be important to her that her owner will be home for a good while to settle her in and get her used to the routine and environment.

This gorgeous lady has so much going for her and is very easy to fall in love with.
